Early Childhood Education

Explore Our Early Childhood Classes:

Early Childhod Classes lie at the very heart of the Suzuki School. They are a fun and creative way to introduce your child to music. If your child is younger than five years old, we recommend you enroll in a general music class for at least a year before taking private instrumental lessons and at least a semester in a course run at the Suzuki Music Schools. Our sequence of Early Childhood Classes are organized by age and designed to help the transition into private instrumental lessons in the Suzuki curriculum.

Please read our terms of service for this class before enrolling

“Learn with Love!” ….. Dr. Suzuki believed that in a loving environment, a child can learn anything. Parent and child participate in a weekly interactive music class. Parents enjoy watching their babies develop rhythmic and melodic awareness, memory and social skills. Teachers work with parents to build a repertoire of lullabies, action songs, nursery rhymes and Suzuki repertoire. Parents become expert observers of their own children. Children watch the actions of the parent and gradually begin to imitate them. This process is one to be enjoyed and celebrated as each new development is observed — just as you do when your baby utters those first few words. With each semester, the child’s mastery level increases, leading to higher skill levels in every area of development. The outcomes of these activities include increased vocabulary, socially acceptable behavior, sensitive group participation, and the most important skill for children at an early age – the ability to listen.

Early Start: Ages birth-12mos

“If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart" ~Dr. Shinichi Suzuki

Designed specifically for lap babies and crawlers, and their parents, our Early Start class uses music to nurture and strengthen the baby/parent bond. Musical, social, cognitive, physical and emotional development is supported through lullabies, rhymes, intentional touch, action songs, and multi-sensory play. The learning, connection and communication continues at home with multiple styles of music for listening as well as educator-shared resources and suggestion in our private Early Start online group, open only to members of the class. 40 minutes; Ongoing classes throughout the year.
